Healthy Buildings International, Inc (HBI) President:
Simon Turner is President of Healthy Buildings. He is responsible for strategic administrative, technical and financial oversight of the company. He joined Healthy Buildings in 1987 after sales and research experience which included lung pharmaceuticals and air pollution research in such fields as asbestos, acid rain, lead in gasoline and dust monitoring in heavily industrialized areas. Turner is the author of some 30 publications and technical reports on such topics. From 1987 to 1994, Turner was located in Healthy Buildings’ Fairfax Virginia office, where his role included method development, marketing, and project management of many of Healthy Buildings’ research and consulting projects. In 1994, Turner moved to Southern California to found Healthy Buildings’ Western Regional office. Turner was appointed President and Chairman of the Board of Healthy Buildings in March of 2006.

Turner has managed comprehensive indoor air quality inspections of many hundreds of major buildings during his tenure with Healthy Buildings. A small sampling include; The Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.; Federal Reserve Banks in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Salt Lake City; Veteran’s Administration Medical Centers in Los Angeles, Loma Linda, San Diego and Sacramento; The Mirage and the Wynn Casinos in Las Vegas; most of the high rise buildings in downtown Los Angeles, and numerous California State University buildings. He has particularly extensive experience in the diagnosis of mold in a wide variety of commercial, residential and industrial buildings, including as an expert in major, highly complex mold-related litigation projects. Turner co-wrote the IAQ test method used by various USGBC LEED programs.

*HND in Applied Biology, Nottingham City University
*Board member of The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), Orange County, Chair of the Government Affairs Committee and a Committee Member of BOMA California. Turner was named BOMA Orange County Professional Member of the Year in 2006 and was recipient of the BOMA Orange County President’s Award in 2011.
*Member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE)
