Joel Ritschel, LEED® AP, CEA, Technical Project Manager
Professional Career
Mr. Ritschel is a Technical Project Manager in Healthy Buildings’ Energy and Resources Group. He has an extensive knowledge of indoor environments as it relates to the commercial building sector and has more than five years of experience in the fields of sustainability, indoor air quality, energy and resources, and environmental consulting. He is skilled in preparing design and construction documents, subcontractor coordination, and has an abundance of on-site field work experience. Mr. Ritschel has worked as project manager on hundreds of commercial real estate indoor air quality assays for many of the nation’s most renowned real estate companies.
Mr. Ritschel is a LEED® Accredited Professional and actively assists clients, architects, and property managers through the LEED® program’s analysis, documentation, and achievement of credits. He is involved in several current LEED® projects including multiple prominent Washington D.C. commercial buildings for which he provides education and support to the management and operation teams regarding the LEED® program. He expertly helps LEED® project teams achieve the most technical of credits ensuring the highest possible certification level. In addition, he lends an in depth and intimate knowledge of HVAC systems and general indoor environmental issues. Joel is also a Certified Energy Auditor with experience in performing commercial energy audits and overseeing systems upgrades. His technical skill set and forward thinking approach make him an integral part of the Healthy Buildings team.
